Job Summary

The Registrar will serve as the administrative and academic operations officer, playing a pivotal role in Providence's transition to an autonomous college. This leadership position demands strategic vision, operational excellence, and deep expertise in higher education governance. The Registrar will oversee all academic administration, ensure regulatory compliance, and serve as the primary liaison with APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University and statutory bodies.

Roles & Responsibilities

  1. Academic Administration & Governance
    1. Oversee all academic operations, including admissions, registrations, grade management, and degree certifications
    2. Maintain and update academic records, student databases, and institutional documentation systems
    3. Coordinate with department heads and the Principal on curriculum implementation, academic calendaring, and policy execution
    4. Manage the transition to autonomous status, including development of frameworks for curriculum design, and quality assurance mechanisms
  2. Regulatory Compliance & Accreditation
    1. Ensure full compliance with AICTE, UGC, NAAC, NBA, and other statutory body requirements
    2. Prepare and submit mandatory reports, returns, and documentation to regulatory authorities and the affiliated university
    3. Lead accreditation and re-accreditation processes, coordinating data collection and documentation
    4. Stay current on changes in higher education regulations and implement necessary institutional adjustments
  3. University & External Relations
    1. Serve as the primary liaison with APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University for all academic and administrative matters
    2. Coordinate with examination bodies (internal & external), academic councils, and boards
    3. Represent Providence at university meetings, academic forums, and regulatory body interactions
    4. Facilitate articulation agreements, academic collaborations, and transfer credit evaluations
  4. Policy Development & Implementation
    1. Develop and implement academic policies, procedures, and guidelines in alignment with statutory requirements
    2. Create and maintain academic manuals, handbooks, and standard operating procedures
    3. Advise the Principal and leadership team on academic governance matters
    4. Ensure consistency in policy application across all departments and programs
  5. Team Leadership & Office Management
    1. Lead and mentor the registry office team (up to 2 additional staff members)
    2. Delegate responsibilities effectively and ensure efficient workflow management
    3. Foster a culture of service excellence, accuracy, and responsiveness
    4. Implement technology solutions to streamline registry operations
  6. Student Services & Support
    1. Oversee transcript requests, certificate issuance, and verification processes
    2. Address student inquiries and resolve issues related to academic records
    3. Coordinate with the career development team on employer verification requests
    4. Support student transitions, transfers, and academic standing matters
