Equal Opportunity Cell - Providence College of Engineering

The Equal Opportunity Cell (EOC) of Providence College of Engineering is committed to promoting an inclusive, equitable, and discrimination-free academic environment for all students, faculty, and staff members. The Cell ensures equal access to educational opportunities and institutional resources irrespective of gender, religion, caste, community, disability, socio-economic background, or any other status.

Objectives

  • To ensure equal opportunities in academic and co-curricular activities for all students.
  • To promote an inclusive campus environment free from discrimination and harassment.
  • To support students belonging to socially and economically disadvantaged sections.
  • To facilitate access to scholarships, financial assistance, and welfare schemes.
  • To create awareness about constitutional values, human rights, and equality.
  • To address grievances related to discrimination and unequal treatment.

Functions

  • Monitor and promote equal opportunity practices within the institution.
  • Organize awareness programs, workshops, and seminars on diversity, inclusion, and social justice.
  • Assist students with disabilities and those from underprivileged backgrounds in accessing institutional facilities and support services.
  • Coordinate with various departments and committees to ensure equitable participation in academic and extracurricular activities.
  • Receive and address complaints related to discrimination and recommend appropriate remedial measures.
  • Encourage a culture of mutual respect, dignity, and inclusiveness across the campus.
