Regulatory Framework

Providence College of Engineering's Fees Refund Policy is framed in full accordance with the guidelines issued by national statutory and regulatory authorities. Specifically, this policy is governed by:

UGC Guidelines — D.O. No. F.2-7/2022 (CPP-II) (C-114546), dated 12.06.2024 Issued by the University Grants Commission, these guidelines establish the standard framework for fee refunds across all higher educational institutions in India.
AICTE — Approval Process Handbook (APH) The Approval Process Handbook of the All India Council for Technical Education, applicable to all AICTE-approved technical institutions, including engineering, technology, management, and applied sciences programmes.

Where any provision of this policy conflicts with the prevailing regulatory guidelines issued by UGC, AICTE, or any other competent authority, the regulatory guidelines shall take precedence. Students and families are encouraged to contact our admissions team for clarification on any aspect of this policy.

Refund Categories & Percentages

The refund amount to which a student is entitled is determined by the date on which the college receives a formal, written request for withdrawal — calculated in relation to the notified last date of admission for the respective academic year. The following table outlines the applicable refund percentages:

3 Withdrawal between 16 and 30 days after the notified last date of admission 80%
4 Withdrawal between 31 and 90 days after the notified last date of admission 50%
5 Withdrawal after 90 days from the notified last date of admission NIL

Please note: The date of receipt of a formal written withdrawal request by the Admissions Office shall be the operative date for determining the applicable category. Verbal or informal requests shall not be accepted.

Important Conditions & Clarifications

To ensure a smooth and transparent process, please take note of the following conditions:

  • Refunds are applicable only upon formal written withdrawal; mere non-attendance or absence does not constitute a withdrawal request.
  • In cases of admission secured through lateral entry or management quota, any additional conditions specified at the time of admission shall also apply.
  • Hostel and transport fees, where applicable, are subject to separate refund terms communicated at the time of enrolment.
  • The College reserves the right to withhold a refund in cases of disciplinary action, academic misconduct, or other violations of the institution's code of conduct.

Providence College of Engineering reserves the right to make changes to this Fees Refund Policy as required by orders or notifications issued from time to time by statutory and regulatory authorities, including but not limited to the UGC, AICTE, and APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU).
