Grievance Redressal Mechanism

Providence College of Engineering is committed to providing value-based education in a supportive and respectful academic environment. Students have the right to raise concerns and seek redressal for valid grievances. To make this process accessible, the college provides multiple channels through which students can share their complaints or suggestions.

Students may raise their concerns through the following avenues:

  1. By speaking with their faculty advisors
  2. By communicating with the Head of the Department
  3. By using the grievance or suggestion box to submit complaints

Committee for Redressal of Grievances

At Providence College of Engineering, the Grievance Redressal Committee is convened by a senior faculty member and includes representatives from different departments. The Principal serves as the Chairman, and matters related to the functioning of the committee are reported to him.

Main Responsibilities

The committee is responsible for:

  1. Ensuring a fair, impartial, and consistent mechanism for addressing grievances raised by stakeholders
  2. Upholding the dignity of the institution by promoting healthy student-student, student-teacher, and teacher-teacher relationships
  3. Developing a responsive and accountable attitude among stakeholders to maintain a harmonious campus environment
  4. Ensuring that grievances are addressed with confidentiality
  5. Respecting the views of both the grievant and the respondent and ensuring that no party is discriminated against
  6. Encouraging all stakeholders to respect one another’s rights and dignity
  7. Hearing the concerns of the grievant, the respondent, and any other person connected to the grievance

Procedures

The grievance redressal process follows these procedures:

  1. The grievant and respondent must be present in person before the committee during hearings
  2. Grievances involving legal complexity, including sexual harassment, misconduct, or matters of a criminal nature, will be addressed in consultation with the Principal and Management for further legal guidance
  3. The Grievance Redressal Committee will examine the facts and submit its recommendations to the Principal, with a copy to the concerned person for further action
  4. The Convenor is the custodian of the minutes of meetings, including the action taken report on previously addressed grievances
  5. The Convenor is responsible for updating the relevant details on the AICTE portal in a timely manner

Online Grievance Redressal Platform

Providence College of Engineering has an online grievance redressal platform to help students submit concerns easily and efficiently. The facility is available through the Student Portal on the college website. Students may use the link provided there to register their grievances, and prompt action is taken to address them.
