The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) has been functioning at Providence College of Engineering since 2019. The committee works actively to prevent sexual harassment of women at the workplace in accordance with the directions of the Supreme Court, AICTE guidelines, and the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.
The ICC works closely with the Gender Equality Cell and the Women's Cell of the college to help prevent sexual harassment and gender discrimination. It promotes gender harmony among students and staff and supports the creation of a safe, respectful, and inclusive campus environment where everyone can study and work without fear of discrimination.
Providence College of Engineering gives high priority to the safety and security of women on campus. Corridors, classrooms, workshops, and laboratories are monitored through CCTV surveillance. Security guards are posted at entry points, and visitor registers are maintained to monitor movement in and out of the campus. All staff members and students are required to wear their ID cards at all times.
The college also has a student welfare system in place to address student concerns and support their psychological well-being. A separate restroom for women is available as part of the medical centre facility. In addition, every floor in all campus buildings has separate women's washrooms. Counselling support is available in the college to help students maintain proper conduct and mental well-being. Faculty advisors guide students to counsellors whenever support is needed.
The ICC organizes at least two committee meetings every year to ensure the effective and consistent functioning of the committee.
