The NSS Unit 515 at Providence College of Engineering is an active student-led platform that promotes social responsibility, community engagement, and meaningful service. With the support of committed student volunteers, the unit regularly organizes impactful programmes such as blood donation camps, cleanliness drives, environmental initiatives, educational outreach activities, and social awareness campaigns.
The unit also leads four flagship programmes under the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University NSS Cell, each focused on an important area of community support and development.
Rudhirasena is the blood donation wing of the unit. It promotes voluntary blood donation and helps provide timely support during medical emergencies.
The Natural Resources Protection Force focuses on environmental protection, resource conservation, waste management, and sustainable practices on campus and in the wider community.
The Energy Cell creates awareness about energy conservation and encourages responsible energy use through volunteer-led initiatives and energy audits.
KTU Care supports palliative care efforts and extends help to the elderly, the needy, and individuals who may require mental health support and community care.
Through these flagship programmes, the NSS Unit 515 conducts orientation sessions, campus activities, and community outreach programmes that help students connect learning with service. These experiences support personal growth, social awareness, and a stronger sense of civic responsibility.
