On 28th July 2025, the BTech 2025–2029 orientation programme featured a cutting-edge session titled “AI & Innovation in Automotive Electronics” at the Einstein Centre Seminar Hall The session was delivered by Mr Binoy Melatt, Director of Engineering at Visteon Trivandrum, with extensive expertise in infotainment applications, voice technologies, AI & ML, and digital cockpit systems Mr Melatt introduced students to the rapidly evolving field of automotive electronics, where Artificial Intelligence is revolutionising safety, connectivity, and user experience He explained how AI is powering advancements such as autonomous driving, predictive maintenance, voice-enabled interfaces, and personalised in-car systems Drawing from his industry experience at Samsung and Visteon, he provided real-world examples of how innovation is shaping the future of mobility The session emphasised the need for interdisciplinary knowledge, combining electronics, computer science, and data science to develop intelligent automotive solutions Mr Melatt also highlighted the career opportunities and research prospects available in this sector, inspiring students to consider the automotive domain as a dynamic and future-ready field Through an engaging presentation, he encouraged students to align their learning with industry trends, adopt a problem-solving mindset, and innovate with responsibility The session concluded with a vision of engineers as key contributors to building safer, more innovative, and sustainable transportation systems
