The PRC Astronomy Club, in association with Sambhavana Grandhashala, Breakthrough Science Society, and the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) - Providence Chapter, hosted a remarkable workshop on January 25, 2025, at the Space Observatory, Providence College of Engineering The event was centred around a rare celestial phenomenon - the alignment of Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, Uranus, and Mercury - offering participants a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to observe this planetary parade The workshop featured an immersive telescope-aided observation session, allowing attendees to witness the planetary alignment in stunning detail Experts led engaging discussions on celestial mechanics, shedding light on the significance of planetary motion and its influence on space exploration A special astrophotography session provided guidance on capturing the event, enabling participants to document this extraordinary sight With an impressive turnout of 152 students and parents from 24 schools, the event successfully sparked curiosity and a deeper appreciation for the wonders of astronomy The workshop not only provided a platform for scientific exploration but also fostered a greater interest in the mysteries of the cosmos, making it a truly enlightening experience for all involved
