Providence College of Engineering, Chengannur, successfully organised a Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Artificial Intelligence & Data Science for Engineering Applications from 23rd to 27th June 2025 The programme was designed to equip faculty members with advanced knowledge and practical insights into AI and data-driven technologies that are rapidly transforming engineering disciplines The FDP featured a panel of distinguished speakers from academia and industry Dr Jitha P Nair, Faculty Member, Dept of Computing & AI, Lymax Learning, delivered sessions on foundational AI methodologies and their engineering applications Dr Shailesh Sivan, Assistant Professor, Cochin University of Science & Technology, provided in-depth insights into machine learning frameworks and research-driven applications Dr Satheesh Kumar, Visiting Professor, Kerala University of Digital Sciences, Trivandrum, shared expertise on emerging trends in data analytics and digital transformation Mr Robin Tommy, Executive Director of KDISC & Incubation Head at TCS, highlighted the role of AI in innovation, entrepreneurship, and industry collaborations The programme was convened by Prof Salitha M K (Assistant Professor, AI Department) and co-ordinated by Ms Jini George (Assistant Professor, AI Department) With a perfect blend of technical lectures, interactive discussions, and case studies, the FDP served as a valuable platform for enhancing faculty competency and preparing them to mentor students in cutting-edge technologies By bridging theoretical concepts with real-world engineering applications, this FDP empowered faculty participants to embrace AI-driven solutions and contribute towards building future-ready engineers
