
On 30th July 2025, the BTech 2025–2029 orientation programme included a convenient and safety-focused session titled “Ignite Awareness, Not Danger” at the Einstein Centre Seminar Hall The session was conducted by the Fire & Rescue Team, Chengannur, who provided hands-on training and demonstrations on fire safety and emergency preparedness The resource team began by emphasising the importance of awareness, quick response, and preventive measures to prevent disasters They explained the basics of fire hazards, common causes of accidents, and the critical role engineers play in ensuring workplace and community safety Students were introduced to essential safety protocols, including evacuation procedures, fire extinguisher handling, and first-response techniques The highlight of the session was the live demonstration, where students observed practical methods of tackling fire emergencies The interactive training allowed them to understand the correct use of fire safety equipment and the importance of remaining calm during crises The team also stressed the need for responsibility, discipline, and awareness in public spaces and laboratories, urging students to integrate safety consciousness into their daily routines The session concluded with a potent reminder that true engineering is not just about creating technology, but also about ensuring the safety and well-being of people The training empowered students with confidence and knowledge to respond effectively in emergencies
