Providence College of Engineering, Chengannur, in association with Samabhavana Grandhasala, successfully organised INSPIRE ’25 – Little Scientists’ Summer Camp from April 28 to May 9, 2025 The 10-day residential camp was designed to ignite scientific curiosity among school students of Classes 8 to 12 by providing them with hands-on learning experiences in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) The camp was inaugurated on April 28, 2025, by Shri Saji Cherian, Honourable Minister for Fisheries, Cultural and Youth Affairs, at Providence College of Engineering The sessions were enriched by the guidance of eminent mentors including Dr Jubi John (Principal Scientist, NIIST, Trivandrum), Prof Dr K C Prakash (Principal, DB College, Sasthamkotta), Prof Dr Varghese C Joshua (Former Principal, CMS College, Kottayam), Prof Dr Jayakrishnan Ramakrishnan (Dept of Physics, University of Kerala), and several distinguished faculty from Providence and other reputed institutions Students actively engaged in interactive experiments, real-world demonstrations, and guided workshops in Physics, Chemistry, Artificial Intelligence, and Robotics They also participated in tech creation projects, DIY gadget-making, and thought-provoking talks delivered by subject experts The camp provided a unique blend of conceptual clarity, practical exposure, and creative exploration The valedictory session was graced by Dr Sabu Thomas, Former Vice Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, who highlighted the importance of nurturing scientific temperament among young minds Outstanding achievers of the camp were recognised with cash awards of ₹5, 000, ₹3, 000, and ₹1, 000, encouraging innovation and excellence With nearly 100 participants, INSPIRE ’25 proved to be an enriching platform that not only deepened students’ scientific understanding but also instilled confidence, teamwork, and a spirit of inquiry, truly shaping the innovators of tomorrow
