
On 30th July 2025, the BTech 2025–2029 orientation programme featured a visionary session titled “Powering Tomorrow: Future Scopes in Engineering” at the Kalam Centre Seminar Hall Mr Dhinulal M, Head of the Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering at Providence College of Engineering, conducted the session Mr Dhinulal provided students with an overview of the rapidly changing landscape of engineering and the opportunities awaiting them in the future He explained how emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, renewable energy systems, the Internet of Things (IoT), and smart infrastructure, are reshaping industries and society He emphasised that engineers must not only acquire technical knowledge but also develop the adaptability and problem-solving skills necessary to thrive in an innovation-driven world The session also highlighted interdisciplinary collaboration, with Mr Dhinulal stressing that the future engineer must be versatile—capable of combining knowledge from multiple domains to design sustainable and scalable solutions He urged students to cultivate curiosity, stay updated with industry trends, and actively participate in research, projects, and innovation challenges Through motivational insights, he encouraged students to view themselves as contributors to national development and global progress The session concluded with the reminder that the engineering journey at Providence is not just about careers, but about powering tomorrow through knowledge, responsibility, and vision
