
The orientation programme for the BTech 2025–2029 batch featured a refreshing and interactive session titled “Unfreeze the Fun” on 21st July 2025 at the Kalam Centre Seminar Hall The session was conducted by Ms Jerly Akku Cherian, Head of the MBA Department at Providence College of Engineering, who emphasised the importance of balancing academics with recreation and creative expression during campus life Cherian began by engaging students in fun-filled activities designed to break the ice and foster camaraderie among the new batch Through team games and interactive exercises, she encouraged students to overcome inhibitions, connect with their peers, and develop a spirit of collaboration The session highlighted how shared experiences outside the classroom contribute to personal growth, leadership, and teamwork She also stressed that while academic excellence is vital, active participation in extracurricular activities, cultural programmes, and student-led initiatives makes campus life more meaningful and enjoyable Drawing on her experience in student development, Ms Cherian motivated the freshers to step out of their comfort zones, nurture hobbies, and use recreational platforms to enhance creativity and stress management The lively and engaging session left students energised and connected, reminding them that a vibrant campus experience lies in blending fun with learning
