The Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Groups Cell has been established to support students from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds and ensure that they have access to the guidance, resources, and inclusive environment they need to thrive.
The Cell works as a supportive platform for students who may face social, economic, educational, or related challenges during their academic journey. Through awareness, guidance, and timely assistance, the Cell helps create a campus environment where every student feels heard, respected, and empowered.
Our Purpose
The Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Groups Cell is committed to promoting equity, inclusion, and equal opportunity within the Providence community. The Cell functions in alignment with applicable statutory, regulatory, and institutional guidelines, and supports the college’s commitment to creating a fair and student-friendly learning environment.
Its primary focus is to ensure that students from disadvantaged backgrounds are not held back by barriers outside the classroom, and that they receive the support needed to participate fully in academic and campus life.
Who Can Approach the Cell?
Any student of Providence College of Engineering who identifies as belonging to a socio-economically disadvantaged group, or who is facing challenges linked to social or economic circumstances, may approach the Cell for support and guidance.
Students may also reach out if they need information about available support schemes, institutional assistance, or appropriate channels for resolving concerns.
